Adhesion of Vesicles and Membranes

چکیده

In the presence of an attractive surface, a vesicle can undergo shape transformations between two different free states, between a free and a bound state, and between two different bound states. Adhesion can also lead to topological changes such as vesicle rupture and vesicle fusion. The interaction between the vesicle membrane and the surface is renormalized by thermally excited shape fluctuations. This renormalization leads to unbinding phenomena both for fluid and tor polymerized (or solid-like) membranes.

Comparison of Biocompatibility of Various Membranes with Fibroblasts

Objective: Different techniques have been suggested for the repair of bone defects at the injured sites. Use of biomembranes, or application of plasma rich in growth factor (PRGF) at the site of proliferation of osteoblasts are among the suggested techniques. The current study aimed to compare the biocompatibility of human periodontal ligament fibroblasts (hPLF) cultured on Hypro-Sorb F, Peri...

High Efficient Transparent TiO2 Nanotube Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells: Adhesion of TiO2 Nanotube Membrane to FTO by Two Different Methods

In order to fabricate transparent TiO2 nanotube dye-sensitized solar cells, anodically growth nanotube membranes are detached from Ti substrate by a re-anodization method. The membranes are transferred on FTO glass by two different methods. At the first one, 100mM Ti-isopropoxide is used to make TiO2 nanoparticles for adhering TiO2 nanotube membranes to FTO and ...

Adhesion-Induced Phase Behavior of Two-Component Membranes and Vesicles

The interplay of adhesion and phase separation is studied theoretically for two-component membranes that can phase separate into two fluid phases such as liquid-ordered and liquid-disordered phases. Many adhesion geometries provide two different environments for these membranes and then partition the membranes into two segments that differ in their composition. Examples are provided by adhering...

Adhesion of Binary Vesicles Containing negative spontaneous curvature lipids

Adhesion of cell membranes is one of the elementary processes of biological phenomena such as membrane traffic. So far, the physical aspects of the vesicle adhesion have been investigated from the view points of a key-lock interaction between ligand and receptor molecules embedded in the membranes, or the interplay of the generic interactions (repulsive hydration interaction and attractive van ...

Depletion versus deflection: how membrane bending can influence adhesion.

During depletion-driven vesicle adhesion, a stiff membrane's resistance to bending at fixed tension prevents contact angle equilibrium and vesicle spreading over an opposing vesicle, while more flexible vesicles partially engulf opposing vesicles. Estimates of the bending cost associated with the spreading contact line, relative to the adhesion energy, were consistent with the observed spreadin...

یافته های تازه درباره سلولهای پاریتال معده

During the last five years the recognition of ionic channels in the parietal cells of stomach and acid chloride mechanisms of secretion by these cells has become totally clear by the "Patch Oamp" technique. The apical cytoplasm in the oxyntic cells are in the form of vesicles where membranes contain H+, K+ -ATPase pump. Stimulation causes fusion of these tubular vesicles with the cell membran o...
